If you are unsure about what the Rotary club does, have a look at www.clubrunner.ca/waterdown Here you can see what this local chapter has been working on. It’s not only a local community provider but also a world wide contributor as well. I have witnessed first hand the effects of what clean water can mean to to a community from my visits to Haiti from wells that the rotary club has drilled.

Here is a list of materials that will be accepted between 8 am and 2 pm.

Aluminum and cast iron lawn furniture

Pop and food cans (bagged)

Fridges, stoves, washers and dryers, sinks, freezers, washtubs and BBQS.

Pots and pans

Metal window and bed frames

Metal tables

Tire rims, auto parts, electric motors and car batteries

Lawn mowers, wheel barrows and metal fencing

Bicycles, motorcycles, and scooters

I have learned over the years that the work site to the site supervisor is equal to a classroom for the professor. It’s your home away from home. It’s your pride, and you will do anything to make that site the most efficient it can possibly be.

So when you are dealing with the site, how efficient is your waste management? If it is a LEED site, you are forced to think about it. But what if it is not?

The most common complaint from site supervisors is not normally the price of a bin service; rather, it’s the level of service. When you call for a bin pickup, you want service immediately, not in two days, not in three, you want it today or first thing tomorrow. Why? Because when you finally notice the bin onsite it is normally overflowing and your guys are looking for a place to dump their material. It should be a simple fix, just call the company and get it switched out. Or is it that simple? Do you call and talk to a live operator? Does your order get taken by that person immediately? Does your disposal company hold to their word regarding when they will service the bin? If not, why are you dealing with that company?

Those key aspects should be mandatory, so you should demand them when dealing with your waste company. If they can’t deliver these simple aspects, then why are they your provider? We have built our business on an excellent service mandate and we take it a step further. Knowing how important your site is to you, we offer a guarantee. If you call us before noon, we will service your bin same day. If we are not able to for whatever reason, we will give you the bin free, you just pay for the dumping. How are we able to provide this kind of service? We have no set schedule for our days. As calls come in, our dispatch team looks at the most effective way of serving all our clients. We have seen how our service is appreciated by our clients by the growth we have experienced over the years. We have grown from 2 trucks and a handful of bins in 1993 to over 30 trucks and nearly 1000 bins today.

Now that we have your service issues looked after, what else can be done to improve your job site? Do you have large amounts of recyclable materials that need to be disposed of? Perhaps consider separating loads to cut down on disposal costs. Having a scrap metal bin onsite will recapture some of the disposal costs. If you are working on a LEED project, you are doing this already. Don’t pay the same disposal rate for construction waste as you do for materials such as cardboard. Remember that the more work the disposal company has to do to the waste, the more you will end up paying in disposal costs. What areas can you improve on at your site?

If you are on a job site now, or about to start a new site, consider all your options. Look at how you can make your site more efficient and cost effective.

If you have questions please call us. We are here to make sure that waste disposal is one of your least concerns.

Don’t settle for anything less than excellent service for your job site. It’s your second home, give it the best.

Thank you for your time.

In the last couple of years Budget has received inquiries from the landscaping industry regarding the use of clean fill bins. We wondered about the influx of questions and the root cause for the influx. Our investigation has turned up some interesting comments and facts about the landscape industry.

With the cost of fuel rising, the turn in the economy, and staffing expenses on the rise, the industry is searching for ways to increase, or maintain their bottom line. We all know what it’s like dealing with outside factors that you can’t control, ie; weather, economy ect. What about the things you can control? Looking specifically at crew costs, we can’t help but determine that there are areas that need to be explored. Everything from man hours onsite, travel time to and from jobsites, and of course the obligatory coffee stop, everything gets looked at. So what about improving actual man hours onsite? Is there a way to increase efficiency onsite without cutting back on quality?

Yes. We have found that by incorporating one simple service, crews can efficiency and dramatically improve the overall jobsite and increase the profitability

By incorporating our clean fill bin service to their jobsites, our clients have indicated that down time onsite has dramatically improved. How?

1. Bins are available for all day purpose, and when it’s full, another arrives. No down time.

2. All crew members are onsite at all times, not leaving for hours to dump a load and then returning only to get reoriented to the site. No wasted manpower.

3. There is no need to pay a crew extra time at the end of the day to dump at a site that MUST be kept secret from the rest of the industry. No wasted travel time.

4. Never worry about finding dump sites that are near jobsites, and how long they are accessible for.

What other benefits are there to using our clean fill bin service? Think of the equipment costs. Our clients have weighed out the costs of maintenance of trailers and trucks, and have found that the overall cost drops and longevity of their equipment increases due to the lack of bulk weight associated with hauling clean fill. Also, the size of equipment needed is reduced. Trailers need not be as heavy and trucks can be reduced in size.

Our clients look at all aspects, and have concluded that cost of equipment and proficiency of the jobsite far outweighs the cost of the clean fill bin service that we provide.

Perhaps it’s time that you look seriously at reducing some of the things you can control in your market. This is one of them. Give us a call, we would be happy to sit down and chat with you about how we can help your business grow.

Not until you actually clean out your material, realize that a small pile of garbage is quite a bit, and the trips to the dump takes twice the time, do you realize it is quite a task. I can give you only one solution to your situation which is a garbage dumpster.

From someone who has been exposed to this business from an early age I can tell you a disposal bin makes jobs like these much easier. Not only are disposal bins delivered and picked up straight from your home, you never have to worry about the way you have to dispose of your material or the transportation of material to a dump or landfill, but you can save yourself a lot of wasted time and money.

There are so many bin companies or junk removal companies who will take advantage of customers who do not know much about renting dumpsters, and are easily mislead by false advertising, fantastic websites, or businesses promising great rates to its customers. Meanwhile these companies are scams, trying to get as much money out of you as possible, or take your credit card numbers and you will never see the bin or once it gets picked up are charged outrageous amounts.

Here are a few tips that will help you homeowners/contractors avoid these types of companies and make the undesired jobs much more enjoyable:

A junk removal company charges by the volume, whereas bin rental companies charge by the weight which is more accurate and better value.

Be cautious of companies that charge by the pound, initially it appears as if it is great value but do the math…. They should be charging by the kilogram or ton.

Budget prides itself in the fact that 60% of our business is through referrals. We also focus on aspects such as having a friendly staff that will go above and beyond what is called of them to help a customer, either by loading up last minute garbage, or providing materials for under the bins so your driveway is protected etc. Most of our personnel have also worked in the industry for years and are very experienced individuals. Our company is also famous for same day delivery. If you call before 12 we will deliver. This is because we have a fleet of over 500 bins ranging form mini-rolloffs, rolloffs, to lugger bins. Rolloff bins also have accessibility through the doors on the back which will help make the job a lot easier. We also weigh all bins at our transfer station so weights cannot be changed, etc..

Budget Environmental Disposal has been in the waste disposal business since 1993 servicing an area extending from Toronto to Niagara Falls to Kitchener and everything in between. The number one priority at our company is our customers. Providing them with the best service is what we focus on each and every day.
